The Glow Hacker is a trading name of BioSwitch - F.Z.E. This Privacy Policy explains how BioSwitch - F.Z.E (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use theglowhacker.com and associated subdomains (the “Site”), including our root cause questionnaire and protocol products.
1. Who we are
The data controller responsible for your personal information is BioSwitch - F.Z.E, trading as The Glow Hacker, a Free Zone Establishment (Limited Liability) registered with the Free Zones Authority of Ajman, UAE, licence number 40279, registered address B.C. 1305098, Ajman Free Zone C1 Building, Ajman Free Zone, Ajman, United Arab Emirates. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@theglowhacker.com.
2. The information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: your email address (and name if provided).
- Questionnaire responses: your answers to the Root Cause Finder quiz. These answers relate to your health, symptoms, and skin condition, and are treated as sensitive / special-category data (see Section 4).
- Purchase information: when you buy a protocol, our payment processor Stripe collects and processes your payment card and billing details. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data: pages visited, referring source, approximate location (derived from IP), browser and device type, collected via our analytics tools.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see our separate Cookie Policy.
3. How we use your information
- To generate and deliver your quiz results and recommended protocol.
- To process your purchase and give you access to the protocol you bought.
- To send you the emails you sign up for and service messages about your purchase, via our email service provider.
- To understand how the Site is used and improve it, via our analytics provider.
- To comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Health-related data and your explicit consent
Your questionnaire answers concern your health. Under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, this is “special category” data that requires a higher standard of protection and your explicit consent to process.
Your quiz results are educational information only. They are not a medical diagnosis, and Maria Rybak Read is not a doctor or licensed healthcare practitioner.
Before you complete the questionnaire, we ask you to tick a box confirming you consent to us processing your health-related answers for the purpose of generating your results and recommendations. You are not required to give this consent, but without it we cannot generate your results. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. Our legal bases for processing (EU/UK users)
- Explicit consent — for processing your health-related questionnaire answers, and for non-essential cookies.
- Performance of a contract — to deliver a protocol you have purchased.
- Legitimate interests — to run analytics and maintain the security of the Site, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain records (e.g. tax and accounting).
6. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Our email service provider — email delivery and automation.
- Our analytics provider — Site usage analytics.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers who store data on our behalf.
Each provider is bound to use your data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information where required by law.
7. International data transfers
We are based in the UAE and our providers operate in various countries including the United States and the European Economic Area. This means your information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries outside your own. Where we transfer personal data of EU or UK users internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) where applicable.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes above. Questionnaire responses and account data are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Purchase and financial records are kept for as long as required by applicable law. You can ask us to delete your data (see Section 9).
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. EU/UK users have these rights under GDPR. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” (note: we do not sell personal information). To exercise any right, contact us at support@theglowhacker.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
The Site and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date shows when. Material changes will be notified where appropriate.
